Celebrate International Dawn Chorus Day with a stroll around the meadows
listening to the amazing early morning birdsong. Learn more about the birds
that live in the centre of Wallingford and how to identify them – it will be
well worth the early start! Binoculars recommended.

Meet at Riverside Car Park, Crowmarsh Gifford

Join a local bat expert to find out about these fascinating night flyers and
where they are roosting right next to the river. Learn how to use a bat
detector and recognise different species in flight. Please bring a torch.

Find out about the life living in, on and around the water features of
Wallingford Castle Meadows. Have a dip and see what you find – a local expert
will be on hand to provide identification tips. As dusk falls use “lamping”
techniques to spot creatures lurking in the depths.

Come and help care for your local meadow by getting rid of invasive weeds.
Gloves and refreshments provided. Drop in and stay for as long as you want, or
why not bring a picnic and enjoy the meadows at their very best.
