From Loretta Waters, Warden, Castle Meadows

Great news – Wallingford Castle Meadows has won a Green Flag award! It is the first one in the South Oxfordshire area and one of only 74 Green Flags given out in the South East this year. This prestigious award recognises the best green spaces in the country and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped Castle Meadows achieve this accolade - the Volunteer Weekend Wardens, Wallingford Green Gym, the Northmoor Trust volunteer groups, Wallingford School Countryside Stewardship group, the cadets and staff from RAF Benson, the Meadows Advisory Group, and each and every one of the local residents who regularly pick up litter, clean up after their dogs and let me know what’s been happening when I’m not around. Thank you all – Castle Meadows would not be the wonderful place it is without you.
