Energy is central to all that we do

Our key initiative is to think about how we can reduce energy use in our community and produce energy for ourselves, rather than continue using finite locked-in energy from fossil fuels.

We have been involved in projects including the Greening Wallingford campaign, the  thermal imaging study and the LEAF-funded Green Deal for Wallingford project.

Members have visited projects such Westmill Wind Farm and the organic waste management site at Crowmarsh to look at alternative methods of energy generation.

We would welcome anyone who would like to join us in working in any of these areas, or if you would like to see these projects in action.  Please get in touch with us.

We have been keeping abreast of the changes in feed-in-tariff for solar photovoltaic panels. Read the latest here. We have also been working through our social enterprise WCEL (Wallingford Community Energy Ltd) to provide practical help to members of the community to find ways of saving both money and energy! What’s not to like?
