Energy is central to all we do
Our key initiative is to think about how we can reduce energy use in our community and produce energy for ourselves, rather than continue using finite locked-in energy from fossil fuels.
The group has actively promoted these initiatives:
- Thermal imaging to reveal heat losses
- Energy efficiency; Insulation; Education
- Renewable energy; Independent advice
The bottom line is that we all need to use less “fossil fuel” – petrol, coal, oil, and gas – fast. With political will, we could change our economy to a carbon-neutral one within a generation, and be healthier and wealthier as a result! Join the campaign at Fossil-free Oxfordshire . Find out how many countries are already half-way there in Prof Keith Barnham’s fascinating new book The Burning Answer .
Generating more renewable energy is good, but saving it is better. Buildings take a lot of energy, and savings are possible by better insulation.
