Repair Cafe Jan 26th (but no swapshop) @ Centre 70
Jan 26 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Sustainable Wallingford Repair Café is back for 2019 with the first one on Saturday 26th January at Centre 70 at 10am to 1pm.    There will be experts for repairing clothes & textiles, bikes, tool sharpening and electrical / electronic items.  It’s a great opportunity to learn how to repair or maintain your broken items plus helping to reduce Wallingford waste.

Our successful repairs in 2019 included a toaster, tent, sewing machine, jumper and leather bag plus the sharpening of several gardening shears and secateurs.  Our volunteer repairers try to fix the broken items that visitors have brought and any repairs are performed free of charge but a voluntary donation will be greatly appreciated.  There are hot drinks and homemade cakes available while you wait for your repair to be complete.

Come and see if we can repair your beloved item.

We have stopped doing swapshops now

Neighbourhood Nosh 16th Feb- all welcome @ Centre 70
Feb 16 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Come and enjoy good food, live music, meet new people and have a fun evening, on Saturday 16th February at Centre 70 (The Kinecroft) Wallingford, from 6.00 – 8.00pm. Whether you come on your own, bring a friend or bring the family, everyone is welcome. See our posters around Wallingford.

Join in the preparations from 3.30 onwards, where fun, laughter and a bit of madness will prevail over chopping, peeling, cooking and being creative; contact Caron if you would like to help or share your skills on 01491 825034.

A big thank you to all those who helped with and attended the first event, and made it such a success.

Caron Spence

Sustainable Wallingford are putting on this event(using food that would otherwise go to waste),to enable people from all walks of life to enjoy a meal together, and hopefully make new connections.

A suggested donation of £3.50 for adults, and £1.50 for children, will help cover our costs and hopefully enable us to put this type of event on again.

We will need lots of help on the day, so if you would like to get involved in helping us in the afternoon to prepare vegetables, lay tables, decorate the hall or help us cook the meal, or later to wash up and clear away, do get in touch even if you can only do an hour or two — we would love to hear from you, making this a real feel good event. We will be at Centre 70 from 3.00pm until about 10.30pm, setting up and preparing veg from 3.30pm, and cooking from about 4.30pm. We also need some front of house people to set up tables, put cloths on, put and make everything accessible. If anyone is good at being creative we could use your flair for ideas on how to make hall more homely; we also need someone to provide what is needed and to actually decorate the hall. So if you would like to help with something in particular let us know, or if you are prepared to help with anything on the day we would also love to hear from you.

We particularly need someone in attendance from 4.30 – 8.00pm who has a first aid certificate.

If you would like to come, please phone Caron on 01491 825034.
