How to dispose of materials for re-use or recycling in and around Wallingford

The Oxfordshire County Council waste recycling centre at Oakley Wood accepts a wide range of household recyclables and waste for no charge. Non-household waste is accepted for a small charge, see the price list on  charging for non-household waste.

Kerbside recycling is provided by our Distrct Council, South Oxfordshire, who also provide a  list of accepted items.

We have been instrumental in encouraging shops to provide recycling points for other items which cannot easily be recycled. You can recycle printer cartridges at Higgs in Castle Street, spectacles at all opticians, and batteries in supermarkets or a kerbsite collections, (but our collection point at Champions was the first!). New developments are crisp packets at Sportswize, and plastic baby food pouches Paddocks pre-school

Many items may be useful to other people- try the community groups Freecycle; trashnothing;and Wallingford Piper sales
