We aim to reduce fossil fuel energy individually and in our community and instead capture and use renewable energy.

The group has actively promoted these initiatives:

• Solar streets (no longer open to new applications), to help householders install solar panels
• Thermal imaging to reveal heat loss
• Energy efficiency; Insulation; Education
• Renewable energy; Independent advice

The bottom line is that we all need to use less “fossil fuel” – petrol, coal, oil, and gas – fast. With political will, we could change our economy to a carbon-neutral one within a generation, and be healthier and wealthier as a result!

Our local council, South Oxfordshire, has declared an Ecological Emergency. It builds on the council’s declaration of a Climate Emergency in 2019, which was followed by a pledge to become a carbon neutral council by 2025 and a carbon neutral district by 2030.
